The next meeting is on indefinite hold as the local chapter of the Association of Women in Computing takes a hiatus

At the end of spring, the current board of directors requested other members step up to support the chapter as board members. There was a minimal response.

Response Description

Without a full board the chapter cannot function. Current board members are no longer able to fill the gap due to professional demands on thier time.

Please contact us if you are interested in a board position. We will be glad to mentor new board members in the duties of each position.

About the program

The Association of Women in Computing has offered stimulating and thought provoking topics on soft skills, hot software skills, disaster recovery and the strategy of linking business to IT; presented by industry experts.

These topics were well attended. We would like to continue to offer networking and exciting topics for the technical women of the Twin City area and need your support to do that.

It is up to our members and potential members to decide if AWC-TC will continue. Thanks for the opportunity to experience board membership.

Activities

.Periodically Volunteer opportunities arise for AWCTC members to lend their professional knowledge to working with the Girl Scouts. Past sessions have included two levels of instruction on web page design with curriculum designed by one of our members. These classes give girls exposure to career paths in technology and hands-on  confidence building experiences.
